# Customer Management screen

The **Customer Management** screen holds the customer directory used when creating orders and customer returns documents.

**Who sees it:** primary user · co-manager · sub-manager

**Used by modules:** `picking` `returns`

## How to get here

- **On the phone:** ☰ menu → **Setup** → **Customer Management**
- **On the computer:** side menu → **Setup** → **Customer Management**

## What is on the screen

![Customers page with New Customer (1), the table columns (2) and the Edit Customer row button (3)](/screens/customers/overview.en.png)

### (1) New Customer

Opens the **Add New Customer** dialog.

Beside it, **Import customers with** and the system name appears when an integration other than WhatsApp is active. Customer import works only with the Bina integration; for other systems the button appears but the action does not import customers. The import matches an existing customer by **External code** and updates it instead of creating a duplicate.

### (2) Customers table

| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| **Customer Name** | The name printed on orders and documents |
| **Phone** | Customer phone |
| **Email** | Email address |
| **Tax ID** | Tax identifier. Unique within the company |
| **Address** | Delivery or document address |
| **Edit** | **Edit Customer** – opens the edit dialog |
| **ID** | Internal number |

Clicking a column header opens a text filter. Deleted customers do not appear.

### (3) Edit Customer

Opens the **Edit Customer** dialog with the same fields as create.

## Dialog fields

| Field | What it does | Required |
|---|---|---|
| **Name** | Customer name | Yes |
| **Phone** | Validated for format. Error: *Invalid phone number* | No |
| **Email** | Validated for format. Error: *Invalid email address* | No |
| **Tax ID** | Must be unique. If another customer has it: *This Tax ID already exists for another customer* | No |
| **External code** | The customer's ID in your ERP or accounting system. Used to match on import | No |
| **Address** | Free-text address | No |
| **Notes** | Internal text | No |

Click **Create Customer** or **Save Changes** (shown only after a change). **Cancel** closes without saving. After saving you see *Customer created successfully* or *Customer updated successfully*.

## Where customers are used

- **Orders.** The order creation dialog has a customer picker with **Search customer by name / phone / email**. You can also click **+ Add new customer** and create one without leaving the dialog – it is saved to this directory. See [Orders](/en/guide/management/orders).
- **Customer returns documents.** A returns document opens on a customer from the directory. See [Returns](/en/guide/management/returns).
- **Orders from integrations.** Orders arriving from the ERP (for example from Bina) carry the customer's name and address on the order itself and do not create a customer record.

## Deleting

In the edit dialog click **Delete Customer**. The **Delete Customer** confirmation reads: "The customer will be hidden from the active customer list. Existing orders and returns referencing this customer will remain unchanged."

::: warning Deleting hides, it does not erase
The customer disappears from the list and the search, but every order and document keeps their name. There is no way to restore them from this screen; if you need them again, create a new customer.
